About Vincent Fitzgerald LCSW

I have always wanted to combine my passion for writing with my career as a mental health practitioner and advocate, but before today, I told myself I would fail. From the time I entered college, I aspired to help others with their struggle against mental illness and its stigma while I navigated my own. Through years of experience as a case manager, school social worker, and psychiatric screener, I struggled with fears I was a fraud who had no business thinking I could help. Anxiety still pervades at times, but it is livable, and I am more functional as a husband, therapist, and father of two than I have ever been. With this blog, I hope to transform the personal to universal, and connect with as many readers as will let me in. I hope it enlightens and maybe even humors from time to time.
